MANILA, Philippines — Because of the inevitable change in the global climate, Filipinos should face the prospect of eating less or no rice at all to go with their meals.
This was the warning issued yesterday by the Senate Climate Change Committee chaired by Sen. Senator Loren Legarda urges everyone to watch Brillante Mendoza’s Thy Womb with Nora Aunor, Bembol Roco and Lovi Poe.
She said that is is “a creative and fearless contribution to Filipino filmmaking,” and it deserved the seven awards it garnered at the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Legarda brings disaster preparedness to 8 regions

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Sen. Loren Legarda has scheduled disaster risk reduction (DRR) workshops in eight regions this year while Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III has proposed to give salaries for permanent DRR officers in cities, towns and provinces.
The DRR workshops are set in the Cordillera, the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Davao, Soccsksargen, Calabarzon and Mimaropa.
