Legarda Hopes for a Better, More Resilient Year Ahead

Senator Loren Legarda today said she looks forward to a better year ahead for the country, particularly in terms of pursuing sustainable, inclusive and resilient development.

Legarda, who chairs the Senate committees on finance, climate change, and cultural communities, said she is hopeful that government programs for 2016 will not only provide for the basic needs of citizens but also proactively address the risks that threaten meaningful progress.

Senator Loren Legarda called on the Filipinos to follow the example of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, whose 119th death anniversary will be commemorated tomorrow, December 30, and emulate his philosophy and commitment to environmental care and management.

Sen.Loren Legarda urged all Filipinos on Tuesday to be “environmental heroes” just like national hero Dr. Jose Rizal who had a special commitment to environmental care and management.

She made the call as the 119th death anniversary of Rizal will be commemorated on Wednesday, December 30.
