Legarda Gifts Antiqueños with Back-to-Back PPO Concerts

Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda has gifted her fellow Antiqueños with a back-to-back concert of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) titled “Paskwa: A Christmas Concert” on November 30 in Tibiao and on December 1 in San Jose.

 

“This is my gift to my kasimanwas. I am sure they will enjoy the PPO’s music. It was 25 years ago when the PPO first performed in Antique. We commemorated that last March when they performed in Anini-y and now, they are back to share their music to more Antiqueños,” said Legarda.

Legarda: 1.5°C Global Warming Limit Crucial for Vulnerable PHL

Legarda files bill banning single-use plastic products

Senator Loren Legarda has filed a Senate bill seeking to phase out single-use plastic products in the country by prohibiting its importation and use in food establishments, stores, markets, and retailers.

Senate Bill 1948 or the Single-Use Plastics Regulation and Management Act of 2018 aims to regulate the manufacturing, importation, and use of single-use plastic products, and will also provide penalties, levies, and incentives for industries, businesses, and consumers on these activities.

Legarda Bats for Regulation of Single-Use Plastic

In observance of National Environmental Awareness Month, Senator Loren Legarda renewed her call to ban the use of single-use plastic products as an effective and immediate way to reduce waste.

Legarda, author of Republic Act No. 9512 or the Environmental Awareness and Education Act that designated November as Environmental Awareness Month, said that single-use plastics end up as litter, clogging drainages, polluting waterways and even endangering marine animals, human health, and ecosystem.
