Legarda, Drilon Bring Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra in Antique and Iloilo

To foster deeper music appreciation among Filipinos, Senator Loren Legarda and Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon will bring the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) to the provinces of Antique and Iloilo for a back-to-back outreach concert on March 1 and 2, respectively.

Under the 2018 national budget, Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, provided additional funding for the PPO’s outreach concerts. These outreach concerts in the provinces aim to promote music appreciation throughout the country.

Legarda Sponsors Free Trade Agreement with EFTA, 7 Maritime-Related Treaties

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Senator Loren Legarda today sponsored the Philippines’ Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) States, as well as seven maritime-related treaties.

Legarda sponsored Senate Resolution No. (SRN) 647, Resolution Concurring in the Ratification of the Agreement of the Free Trade Agreement Between the EFTA States and the Philippines.

Legarda: Let Us Save Our Native Languages

In celebration of International Mother Language Day (February 21), Senator Loren Legarda today pushed for the preservation of the country’s native languages as she expressed support over current efforts to save such heritage.

“Many of our native languages would face extinction if we fail to preserve and promote them. Language is not only part of our culture and history but also an important aspect of our identity as a nation,” said Legarda, a staunch advocate of Philippine art and culture promotion.
