MANILA, PHILIPPINES—CHAOS ERUPTED OUTSIDE THE GATES OF THE COURT OF APPEALS AS THE 43 HEALTH WORKERS WERE HERDED ONTO ARMY BUSES AND DRIVEN BACK TO A MILITARY DETENTION FACILITY IN TANAY, RIZAL.

Ex-DOTC chief Lichauco dies at 75

FORMER TRANSPORTATION SECRETARY AND CIVIL SOCIETY LEADER JOSEFINA LICHAUCO PASSED AWAY SUNDAY MORNING. SHE WAS 75.
A report from the Philippine Daily Inquirer said Lichauco, who also served as National Telecommunications Commission commissioner during the Aquino administration, died two weeks after suffering a stroke in Hong Kong.
A radio dzBB reported early Monday that Lichauco died at about 5 a.m. Sunday while undergoing treatment at the St. Luke’s Medical Center.
